In keeping with the museum concept and its extraordinary contents, the architect and chairperson of the museum, Ruairí O’Brien, has designed two custom-made modules to be used for special exhibitions: ‘Luise’ and ‘Lotte’. These provide a further unique and effective platform to present a diverse range of thematic exhibitions within the museum.
The two modules were built with donations from visitors to the museum, as well as the kind support of publishing houses Cecilie Dressler Verlag and Atrium Verlag.
A new special exhibition is opened every year during the Erich Kästner Museum Festival in February. It stays open until the end of the following January and features contents based on a theme chosen for the year by the Erich Kästner Museum.
